The work started in an ambulance. It never stayed there.
I am Andrew Perry, an EMT, writer, speaker, advocate, podcaster, entrepreneur, and storyteller from Northeast Arkansas. More than a decade in EMS taught me that the most important work is almost always about people, trust, communication, and what happens when the stakes are real.
The beginning
EMS put me inside communities on some of their hardest days. It taught me to listen before speaking, to make decisions with incomplete information, and to understand that systems only matter when they work for the people depending on them.
That experience became the foundation for everything that came next: advocacy, public relations, writing, speaking, leadership, media, business, and creative work.
The common thread is people.
Whether I am caring for a patient, explaining EMS funding to a community, writing an article, speaking to a room, recording a podcast, or building a company, the work is still about people understanding one another well enough to move something forward.

2026 NAEMT EMT of the Year
Being named the 2026 NAEMT EMT of the Year is an honor I carry with a lot of gratitude. I see it less as a finish line than a responsibility to keep learning, serving, advocating, and telling the stories of the people who make EMS work.
What I am building now
I am continuing the EMS work, writing, speaking, producing ADHD And The Theory Of All The Things, and building creative projects through RedBug Studios. If there is a good question at the center of it, I am probably interested.
